    News & New Items
    Hey folks,

Well the Starfire Red® Gourami launch did not disappoint. Response was overwhelming but in a good way. Good news is we still have plenty available for next week's orders so everyone will be able to restock. We've already seen some posts on social media (other than ours) about them and the response has been great so far. So if you weren't able to order this past week here's your chance to see what all the fuss is about. And just a reminder we have good numbers on the Starfire Red® as well. Size is really nice on these right now and they pair great with the Gouramis.

Finally got Colombia in this week. And while some of the availability is still pretty limited we did get restocks on some very popular items. First I will have to say are the Ruby Tetras. We have not had these in forever despite multiple attempts at ordering them. These can be classified as a "nano" fish and sell  out almost immediately every time we get them. Next up as far as popularity go are the Green Neons. I've said it a thousand times but that's because it's true, these sell well on name alone. For Plecos we got refills on Royals, Green Phantoms, Colombian Zebras and Snowballs. Cories saw restocks on Skunks, Agassizi, Punctatus and the highly sought after Pygmy. And no Colombia order would be complete without at least a couple Red Pikes. And that's exactly what we got, a couple.

For Asian imports "nano" fish seem to be the big thing lately. Got in a new batch of Tiger Badis. These will go nicely with the Scarlets we had last week. Choprai Danios came in about as big and as bright as they get. You're gonna hear me say that a lot this week because it's true as we are at the time of year where the water temps are elevated and as a result so are the growth rates. And if it's growth you're looking for then look no further than the Redtail Cats. Small for now but eventually grow up to be legit river monsters. And speaking of monsters we finally got in Hifin Banded Loaches, just in time for pond season (which is exactly where they belong). But if you're looking something more aquarium friendly then check out the newly restocked Tricolor Barbs. Ever since we stared bringing those in back in January they have been flying out of here.

As much as I am not a huge fan of the heat down here in Florida I am a fan of what that means for fish availability and size. Starting with the Rainbows I don't think there's a single one that isn't running oversize at the moment. Medium Turquoise are probably the leader in this category but really can't go wrong with any of them. Diamond Tetras are practically show size this week. Cherry Barbs are running at a nice size with great color. Gold Zebra Danios are gigantic. For African Cichlids medium mix male Peacocks might be the best bang for the buck and not far behind them are the Yellow Albino Swallowtails.

The wait is finally over, today's the day! Place your order for the Starfire Red® Gourami now!  Size is great on this initial batch, much like the Angelfish were when they launched.  I'd recommend stocking up on launch week while they're running larger than usual.
Starfire Red® Angels are still shipping in good numbers and pair really well with the new Starfire Red® Gouramis!

    Colombia
Ruby Tetras are in for the first in maybe a year. As the name suggests these are super bright red once settled and they stay small enough to be considered nano tank appropriate.
And speaking of small and super bright Green Neons got a restocking on this week's Colombia shipment. Name is the big seller here.
Red pikes are as big and as bright and as limited as they get. Definite show piece candidate right here.
Red Hooks are some of the biggest we've gotten in the past year.
New batch of Green Phantoms look just as nice as ever. One of the more affordable "fancy" Plecos.
Small Royals are back and what they lack in size they more than make up in cuteness.
Snowball Plecos came in with pretty decent numbers with nice size and fantastic, high contrast spotting.
Speaking of high contrast, Colombian Zebra Plecos also saw a restocking this week. No Pleco selection is complete without these striped beauties.
Arcuatus aka Skunk Cories are one the most popular species when available therefore everyone should have these on their orders this week.
Can't remember the  last time we had Agassizi Cories in stock. And for the Cory aficionados out there yes, these are technically Sodalis. Just like Julii are actually Trilineatus.
Punctatus Cory are the other wild cory this week, and these are by far the biggest of the options
Pygmy Cories could not have come back in at a better time as we just sold out of the last batch. Couldn't get quite as many this time around so don't snooze on these.
I mean, do I really need to say anything more other than just look at that ugly mug lol. FYI it's a Gulper Cat for those of you who don't read this regularly.
    Asia Imports
I know I talk about nano tanks/fish to death but there's a good reason for that...they're the most popular part of the hobby right now! So with that being said everyone should be buying Tiger Badis this week. FYI still have a handful of Indian Blues as well.
If Choprai Danios were available every week I think they would be second only to Zebras. And quite frankly I think that would be due to price point as the Choprai (aka Glowlights) are a much prettier fish.
I can't wait until we start producing these here at the farm because ever since we started brining in the Tricolor Barbs the demand has far exceeded the supply. And for good reason, just look at them. They're amazing and this is a pretty lousy pic so just imagine how good they look in person.
Redtail Tinfoil Barbs were supposed to come in as albinos but these are clearly regulars. But no matter because the size pretty nice and already showing color in the fins.
Glass Fish are in for the first time in years. Not to be confused with the far more common Glass Cat, these used to come in as "painted" but fortunately that practice is all but extinct. Size on these is near adult and they are looking really solid.
Hengeli aka Glowlight Rasboras are in after a rather lenthy hiatus. These Harlequin cousins are a bit more slender and have an orange hue to them as opposed to pink. Something diffrent to offer your customers that they aren't going to typically see in the big chains.
Rosy loaches are back. This is a pic of an acclimated individual. The ones we have are silver at the moment but once settled in over substrate this is what they'll look like.
When available Knight Gobies are one of the best selling species we get in. They are only surpassed on by the BBs and those take a bit more care when it comes to feeding. Just throw some brine shrimp and bloodworms on these with a bit of salt and they'll do great.
Pond season is here which means so are Hifin Banded Sharks/Loaches/whatever other common name you wanna throw on them, they have like a hundred of them. Regardless of what you choose to call them this is the perfect time of year to carry them as they are much better suited for a pond than an aquarium due to their massive adult size. These are around 4"+.
And speaking of fish that will eventually grow up to be massive we got in 2-3" Redtail Cats. While these won't faire well outside they will absolutely thrive in an indoor pond.
    Rainbows
I would like to just say "summertime is Rainbow time" but I've been told to knock it off with the cheesy sayings. But it is summer down here (sorry Denver) so Rainbows are running big and beautiful and the medium Turquoise are no exception.
Neon Dwarf are in the same boat as they are about as big and bright as they get.
Trying not to sound redundant here but the Celebese definitely belong to the "as big and as colorful as the get" club this week.
    Tetras
I featured them last week but Diamonds somehow managed to get even bigger since then. This is my pick of the week as far as Tetras go.
Black Phantoms aren't as huge as they were most of the winter but they are still very nice with lots of males showing full adult color.
Red Phantoms are about as big as I've ever seen them come through here. Color is nice and red already.
Same as said above goes for the Embers. This is another one you can add to your "mut-have" nano fish list.
    Cichlids
Have a few Florida caught Jumbo Oscars available. These are typically nicer than the ones you see people bringing in that were raised in way too small of a tank. Color and conformation are what they should be.
4" Brasiliensis are hands down the best looking Central/Southie on the farm right now.
Jags are getting a bit bigger each week. Still small but these will grow up to be absolute terrors in no time.
Leaving the Red Spot Gold Severums in this week because they're still one of the best overall looking fish here on the farm.
    Old World Cichlids
Yellow Albino Swallowtails are above and beyond the best value "regular" size Pecocks. These really should be listed as mediums. Already have males in the mix showing great color.
New batch of medium mix male Peacocks have outstanding color this week.
Good ole fashioned Hap Compressiceps or as they used to be called "Malawi Eye-Biter" are back in stock this week. Came in as regulars but most are much closer to medium size. Another great value this week.
Not quite as big but super bright and lemon yellow are the Albino Hap Compressiceps.
Got a handful (and I do mean handful) of large Pseudotropheus Deep Msobos available this week. Pictured here is a male, females are solid gold.
