Hey folks,
Well this is it, launch week is finally here! It's obvious that some of you have been reading the email pretty regularly as we already started receiving orders on the GloFish® Moonrise Pink® Cories this morning. These are going to be the hottest selling item we have had since the Angel launch. You have to see these in person to truly appreciate them. Color is outstanding under any lighting condition. Your customers are going to go nuts over these. Perfect timing as Black Friday is just around the corner.
In addition to the Cory launch we have plenty of great fish to stock up in time for the holiday season including a couple of new(ish) additions. The first is brand new to us, Redfin Daisy Ricefish. This a color variant of the Blue Daisy and I must say I am not disappointed. They've only been here a few hours and there are already plenty of males starting to show off. Aquarium strains of Ricefish have been all the rage overseas and it's just a matter of time before that trend really starts to pick up here. And as we all know nano tank enthusiasts are always on the lookout for something new. Speaking of nano fish our latest addition this week may not be exactly new but certainly one we've not had in a quite a long time, Indian Blue Badis. The Scarlets and Black Tigers are always fan favorites as they sell out every time we get them and these are sure to do the same. Only difference is these came in HUGE! And by huge I mean by Badis standards but these are more than twice the size of the other species that we typically get in. They arrived just hours before I started writing this so their color is a little faded in the pic but these settle in pretty quick and you can already tell they will be amazing looking.
The far east also brought us some long lost favorites, well maybe it hasn't been that long but sure feels like it. We'll start with what is quite possibly my favorite dwarf species of Gourami, the Samurai. These are cousins of the Chocolate Gourami but truth be told these seem to hold up much better under standard water conditions. We also got in Sumo Loaches for the first time in a hot minute as the kids say. These fantastic little bottom dwellers have a great splash of color to them once they settle in. And speaking of Loaches we got in one of the meanest yet prettiest members of the Loach family, Tiger Botias. These guys can be extremely territorial so be careful when mixing them with other bottom feeders.
While it may be freezing down here, at least by Florida standards anyway, we're still getting a ton of great locally raised fish. First and foremost have to be the medium German Blue Rams. These might be my favorite fish here this week. Size could be considered large for the guys and the color speaks for itself. You'll see what I'm talking about in the pic below. And speaking of large, Large assorted Gouramis have made a triumphant return. Not sure for how long so don't sleep on these. Size is great and so is the mix. Also running large this week are the Emerald Rainbows. And holy cow is the color on these exquisite. Super bright with fantastic fin extensions. And since we're talking about Rainbows Blehri are also back with a vengeance. Check out the pic below and you'll see what I mean.
Well for those of you who read this regularly you know what time it is, it's to talk Cichlids. And before anyone points it out yes I already mentioned the Rams but here I'm talking about bruisers and busters. And speaking of which let's start off with one of my favorites, Jaguars. Got restocked on these and while they are on the small side that doesn't stop them from being awesome. Even as little guys these will fly out of here so be sure to grab a few. And sticking with in the same realm we still have a select few of the Yellow Jackets left. No idea when we're going to be able to get more of these. Could be next week, could be next year. Either way don't wait to find out and pick some up before they're gone. Next up may not be nearly as bruiser or bustery but still very nice are the medium Green Severums. Now I know what you're thinking, that's such a common fish so why mention it here. Well I'll tell you...because they're awesome, that's why. In all seriousness these are very nice and I would definitely recommend them over the regulars. |

| The new Redfin Daisy Ricefish almost look like if a Blue Daisy and a Neon Dwarf Rainbow had a baby. Males have bright red almost paddle like pectoral fins. Really neat new strain on this species. |
| Blue Badis are back for the first time in ages. These just came in a few hours ago so they are still settling in but they are already beginning to show color. Size is all over the board ranging from what you would expect to some monstrous males in the mix. No matter how you slice it people are always on the hunt for nano fish. |
| Scarlet Badis got a restock this week and while they are fairly average in size their color is as bright as ever. These little red fire engines are here just in time for the holidays. |
| I've said this before and I'll say it again, you can never have too many nano fish. Galaxy Rasboras aka CPDs continue to be one of the most popular species in this niche. And just like the last several batches these are actually big enough to tell what they are. That isn't always the case. |
| Got in more Gardneri Killies this week and they look to be mostly males. This is the most common member of the family for a reason, they're very colorful and relatively hardy. |
| Samurai Gouramis are back and boy have they been missed. This is one of the the most interesting species of dwarf Gouramis. Not only do they have a very distinct pattern with a mix of green and red coloration, these tend to hold up pretty well considering they come from very acidic conditions by nature. |
| I still hear people being rather hesitant about picking up Longfin Tiger Barbs because they're an oxymoron. Why would anyone make a longfin version of a notorious fin nipper? The answer...the fins slow them down so they can't nip at each other nor their tankmates lol. |
| Rainbow Gobies got refilled this week. These seem to be on of if not the hardiest species of Goby we get. Never seem to have issues with these interesting bottom dwellers. |
| Sumo loaches are back after a brief absence. Kinda like a cross between a Kuhli and a Zodiac Loach. Nice pinkish orange coloration highlights the midsection. |
| Tiger Botias could possibly be the most aggressive species of loach in existence. That being said it makes them perfect tankmates for larger, more aggressive Cichlids. Great scavenger that does an excellent job at eradicating nuisance snails |
| Moth aka Anchor Cats are in for the first time since spring. These tiny little guys are about full grown as they seldom exceed 1.5" making them a perfect addition for nano enthusiasts |
| 3" Clown Knives are starting to show their spots as opposed the striped juvenile markings. We also have some 4" and 8" Royals available as well. |
| Emerald Rainbows are by far the biggest of their family at the moment. Pic really doesn't illustrate just how massive these guys are but trust me, they're impressive. |
| Albino Millenia Rainbows are back and there are already some males showing some good color. |
| At first one might think these are Red Rainbow that we commonly feature but these are actually the normal phase of the Millenia Rainbow. These are surprisingly less common than their albino counterparts featured above and unlike the more common Reds the females on this species is actually quite attractive. |
| Moonlight Gouramis have been coming in at a pretty consistent size as of late. It seems ridiculous to say but they just might be the prettiest silver fish in the hobby. |
| .Pearl Gouramis are running very nice this week. Size is solid with a good number of males in the mix showing quite a bit of color. |
| This big guy was found in the large assorted Gourami mix this morning. Not saying you'll get these in every batch but there are some in there this week and they are considerably bigger than the regular size. |
| Found some Pink Kissers in the large assorted Gourami mix as well today. The blend will probably change from group to group but just about everyone in there is worth the extra dough. |
| Blue Paradise got filled finally and while the size is on the small side now that they've had a chance to settle in they're starting to show some nice color and some of the males have pretty good finnage already. |
| Flagfish are running a bit mixy at the moment but there are quite a few jumbos in the mix. My suggestion would be to separate out the larger ones and sell them at a higher price. People are always looking for bigger fish. |
| I keep waiting for us to run out of availability on these but so far that hasn't been the case on the Candy Canes. And I can't say this will be true of every batch but the ones we have here currently are by far the biggest I have ever seen. And I don't just mean through here, like ever. They must be retired breeders because they are massive. |
| Featured these last week but since they're still awesome I'm featuring them again. The mixed sex Congos have some nearly full grown males in there and even the females are running big. |
| Longfin Serpaes are one of the best looking Tetras on the farm right now and since regular Serpaes have not been available as of late these are your best option. |
| Albino Glo-Lites are back this week and better the ever. They usually take some time to settle in and color up but these have a gorgeous neon red stripe going all way alongside the body. |
| Still have pretty good numbers on wild Green Neons. If this is something you haven't carried before you should. They have a legendary name in this hobby for some reason and sell on that alone. Yesn they are smaller than all the other Neons we carry but that doesn't seem to matter. Hobbyists are always on the lookout for these. |
| Still have some really nice Flagtail Prochilodus in stock. These are fantastic for large semi-aggressive aquariums. Pair great with Angels, Severums and Silver Dollars just to name a few. |
| Found another vat of Exodons over the weekend. These really don't require much of a sales pitch as they are one of the most popular oddball characins out there. |
| After being out for a few weeks Red Head Tapajos are back in small quantities. And even though these are running pretty small that won't stop these guys from selling out in a couple of days. These continue to be the most popular "Geo" on the market. |
| Managuense aka Jagua Cichlids got a restock this week. And Just like the last couple of batches these are fairly small but still look great. Unlike some of the other tank busters these guys look like miniature versions of their adult selves even at such a young age. |
| Did a walk-thru last night and came across a tank of Fredrichstahli aka Yellow Jacket Cichlids. Just a few pieces left but since they have been flying under the radar they have grown a bit and their color is really starting to come out. |
| Select Gold Severums are back in stock here on the farm. These are worth every extra penny over the regulars. The color really starts to show at this size which makes them much better sellers compared to their smaller counterparts. |
| Still have some medium Lyonsi available and they just keep getting better each and every day. It's uncommon Central/Southies that will grab the attention of you customers. |
| Found a handful of Striped Pike hanging around in one of our vats. They've definitely put some size on and they look absolutely perfect. |
| Med Red Nyererei are back after a brief hiatus. If you haven't heard my speech on these dollar for dollar this might be the best looking freshwater fish commonly available. this isn't even as bright as they get. Perfect colors for the upcoming holiday season. |
| Got the Albino German Red Peacocks available in two sizes now and both are selling incredibly well. |
| This is the large version of the afore mentioned Albino German Red Peacocks. Whether or not you're a fan of albino versions one has to admit that these are stunners. |
| Got a handful of Hi-Yellow Ob Peacocks on hand and they just continue to get better looking . |
| Large Venustus are back in stock. This is one of the best value Haps you can get. A tank of these along with the large Blue Dolphin Moorii is a real head turner. |
| New batch of large assorted Haps this week and in the mix are some beautiful gems like this male Livingstoni. |
| also in the large assorted Hap mix are far less common species including this female Milomo aka Super VC-10. |
| Not sure what to get this week? Can almost never go wrong with any of the assortments and the large assorted Mbuna are no exception this week. Size is huge and mix is great including this monstrous Electric Blue Johanni. |
| Also in the large Mbuna mix are some Florida hybrids like this Yellow Lab/Red Zebra cross. That's technically a guess as to what that is but I've seen that mix so many times before I'm more than confident as to the identification. Either way it's a big beautiful fish at a fantastic price. |
| Down to just a handful of the large fancy Mbuna. Gonna try to get more before Thanksgiving but this could be it for a few weeks so stock up while you can. |
| Red Top Hongi are back and not only are they a bit oversize, the color is about as good as it gets for just about any Mbuna. |
| 2.5-3" Blue Diamond |
| 2-2.5" Assorted |
| 2-2.5" Pigeonblood |
| Thai Micro Crabs are back! These little nano beauties fly out of here every time we get them. One of the most popular micro crustaceans in the hobby. Customers will place an entire order around these. |
| Pumpkin Shrimp |
| Vampire Crabs are back but in fairly limited numbers. These guys are more terrestrial than aquatic so treat them more like a dart frog. |
