History

Nautilus Wholesale has been providing tropical fish to retail stores since 2002. Nautilus started as saltwater distributor for the parent company 5D Tropical. Over the years the company evolved into the primary direct to retailer supplier for GloFish® and other freshwater products for 5D Tropical.

Our parent company 5D Tropical has been in business since 1976. Founded by Joe and Anita Diaz, 5D is still owned and operated by the Diaz family[KF1] [KF2] . In the early days 5D was a pioneering company in production of plecos and many other species that had never been produced in the US. When GloFish were first brought to market 5D Tropical was the original producer for these transgenic fish. They are now the exclusive producer and distributor for all lines of GloFish®.

Nautilus was developed to sell directly to independent retail stores. Our sales staff has decades of experience with both selling fish here as well as in retail stores, so we are well suited to handle your tropical fish needs.
