    Medium Mix Male Peacocks
    Hey Folks,

Plenty of new fish in here over the weekend and more coming in today.

Restocked on some Florida-bred peacocks. Unlike the far-east fish, these are not hormone fed and show their color naturally. I have some medium male sunshines that are a Maleri Island type but not 100% that they're 100% pure. Super nice strain, just more comfortable selling them as an aquarium strain sunshine than a Maleri Island. Not like anybody is going to get babies from them since they're all-male. I also have some new mixed male peacocks (mostly peacocks) and a select size red fire peacock.

And if you want the small cheap import juiced peacocks I have new 2" assorted and 2" strawberry peacocks. These are given a methyltestosterone feed to show color and they will fade when it wears off. There's no issues to the fish, but you need to tell your customers or they're going to be unhappy with you. The color they show when given the hormone feed is what they'll show as adults, but that's only if they're males. The MT feed causes the females to show adult male color too, so there's about 50/50 chance that your customers are seeing the adult color of the fish they're buying.

Pineapple wag swords came in yesterday from a local farm and they're the best looking sword here. Some other new Florida fish include brick tux swords, big bright gold barbs, huge albino and blue paradise, black phantom tetras, and medium red zebras. Some of my new imports include electric blue jack dempseys (very small), tiger botias, alien bettas, archerfish, and Asian needle gar. Got a bunch of new discus coming in today.

Some random stuff that stood out in today's walk-through include Asian UD cats, green swordtails, blue badis, penguin tetras, albino clown knives, snakeskin barbs, huge 'medium' peacock gudgeon gobies, gigantic 'medium' fenestratus cichlids, medium EB johanni (on special), XL balloon mollies, and wild green severums.

Please give a call if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Joe Hiduke

    Reptile & Amphibian Highlights
Elephant trunk snakes are in stock again this week. You can have these even if your store is aquatics only. They are fully aquatic 100% of the time. Make sure they are in clean water and kept warm, and ideally somewhat acidic. That seems to help prevent blistering that was historically a big problem for this species. Biggest downside to this species is that they get huge, well over six feet.

I have a few new geckos available this week. Indo imports but these typically do well. Tokays are in stock again. While they're not typically friendly they are interactive and responsive pets. They'll learn to take food from tongs pretty quickly. If you put some work into it they can be handleable.

Flying geckos are in stock too. Much smaller than the tokays, they'll work in a planted terrarium. They are strongly nocturnal but will quickly learn to come out and feed during the day. They'll take a crested gecko/day gecko food in addition to live insects.
